Former Newcastle and England player Kieron Dyer will be playing in a charity game that will feature other players such as Fabio Cannavaro, Dida, Jermain Defoe and Danny Murphy.
This will be a great occasion for Dyer’s fans to see him back on a football pitch. Soccer Aid 2016 is a charity match which will help to raise fund for Unicef.
Kieron Dyer will be playing in the England side that will be managed by Jose Mourinho and Sam Allardyce. He will be joined by players such as Jermain Defoe, Phil Neville, Danny Murphy, Jamie Carragher, Robbie Fowler, David Seaman as Sol Campbell. There will also be international stars from the non-footballing world that is going to be part of the team. It is expected that singer Louis Tomlinson, Olly Murs, TV presenter Mark Wright as well as John Bishop will also be part of the England side in the game.
The Rest of the World team will be managed by Leicester City’s manager Claudio Ranieri, and he will be assisted by Niall Horan of One Direction. Players for the Rest of the World team will consist of JaapStam, DimitarBerbatov, Ronaldinho, Cafu, Edgar Davids as well as Samuel Eto’o. Among the international stars, we will have Michael Sheen, Gordon Ramsay as well as Nicky Byrne that will be part of the team.
The game will be held on the 5th of June and will be refereed by former international referee Howard Webb.
Soccer Aid is a biennial event that seeks to raise fund for Unicef UK and was launched by Robbie Williams and Jonathan Wikes back in 2006. This year’s match will be the 6th edition of the event, and the promoters will be hoping that they could exceed the income they received in the previous edition.
